My
Story

My journey into the marine industry began working for marine Secol Trading company based by the river Nene in Northamptonshire. After working in Northamptonshire, I moved to the south coast where I lived on Princess 32 motor cruiser in Brighton marina for a number of years, where I literally lived where I worked.
I completed various Volvo Penta engine courses in Watford over the following years as part of my ongoing training. I also gained RYA certificates both land and sea-based courses allowing me to carry out sea trails and demonstrations with potential customers on both sailing and motor boats. Marine Secol trading company morphed into Princess motor Yacht sales in the 1990’s and became the largest Princess dealerships in the world.

In 1984 I moved from Brighton to Poole with Princess motor yacht sales where I
qualified as a yacht broker and headed a newly opened sales office in Poole selling both new and brokerage boats. Princess sales Poole office was consistently the best performing sales office in the UK under my tenure. In 2004 I felt it was the right time to stretch my legs and do my own thing. I created Global Yacht Brokers and left the cosy working environment of a large motor cruiser company.

Global Yacht Brokerage are still a family run business some twenty years on in 2024.

We’re based in Dorset covering the UK, Channel Islands and Europe. We pride ourselves on being a one stop shop where we provide new and used boat sales, aftersales assistance, RYA tuition and moorings both in the UK and in Europe.
